Dr. Coffee > How should I store the coffee beans?

Dr. Coffee

Question:
How should I store the coffee beans?
Dr. Coffee:
Store your beans in the bag it comes in. Once these bags have been opened, you can transfer the beans to a clean, dry, air-tight container, or simply roll the top of the bag closed, forcing out as much air as possible, and seal the bag with a clip.
Whole coffee beans should be stored in an airtight container in a dry dark, place at room temperature. They will be at their best for the week after roasting. Keep no longer than 1 month after roasting. Ground beans do not stay fresh as long as whole beans because more surface area is exposed. Keep ground beans in an airtight container in a dry dark, place at room temperature for no more than two weeks.
